THE TOKEN SYSTEM

Swap Shop = Retail Chic

To ensure everyone has a fabulous time, Sportsgirl Swap Shop will have a coloured coded token system being used in the Swap Shop.

The token system will allow you to swap fashion items for near or equal value to what you have brought to the Sportsgirl Swap Shop event.

So don’t be afraid to bring those designer jeans you never got around to wearing. Or the dress you wore to the races. You will be sure to find something of near or equal value.

When you check your fashion pieces at the Swap Check In you will be issued Tokens

The Tokens issued on the night include

$30-$50 = Pink Token

$50 to $100 = Silver Token

$100 to $150 = Gold Token

SOME HELPFUL HINTS

DO BRING

• Clothing, bags, belts, shoes or other accessories.
• That pair of shoes that you bought too small and have never quite managed to squeeze your tootsies into.
• The jacket that your mum bought you that isn’t quite your style but is WAY too good to be given away or sold at the markets.
• The things you’ve been meaning to sell on eBay but simply haven’t had the time or motivation.
• Your girlfriends!! Sportsgirl Swap Shop is a fun girlie night out!

DON’T BRING

• ITEMS MORE THEN 1 YEAR OLD OR UNDER $30 IN VALUE
• Items that are very worn or in poor condition
• More than 5 items! We can only accept between 1 and 5 items per person per swap so choose your swap submissions carefully before you leave home,
• Items that should not be swapped for hygiene reasons. Think underwear or swimwear. Unless you have underwear or swimwear with the tags still on, best not to bring these!

Sportsgirl Swap Shop Rules

• IT IS YOUR OBLIGATION TO FIND AN ITEM OR ITEMS THAT YOU WANT TO TAKE HOME WITH YOU. SWAP MY STYLE DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL TAKE HOME ANY ITEM WITH YOU OR ANY ITEM THAT IS OF EQUAL VALUE TO AN ITEM THAT YOU BROUGHT IN TO SWAP.
• IF YOU ARE TOO EMBARRASED TO LEND IT TO A FRIEND THEN DO NOT BRING IT TO SWAP MY STYLE – THE FASHION POLICE WILL BE ON HAND
• You will only be allowed to check in a maximum of 5 items
• ITEMS ENTERED INTO THE SWAP SHOULD NOT BE MORE THEN 1 YEAR OLD
• MINIMUM ITEM VALUE MUST BE $30
• Please do not bring work wear. You will be advised to enter My Closet
• Please do not be late to a Swap My Style event.
• It is important that the sisterly “Spirit of the Swap” is embraced by all participants. While Swap My Style provides funky finds in a range of price brackets, providing quality for one another is a key for a great swap.
• Items can be unworn or gently worn. If your fashion item is deemed to be in too poor condition for “re-sale”, it may not be accepted into the swap.
• If you can’t bear to be without a particular fashion item, please do not bring it to a swap event. It can be a strange feeling watching someone else try on your belongings, it is important that you are detached and happy to see your fashion items go to a new home!
• Remember, that Swap My Style is all about – you guessed it – STYLE! We know that women have different and eclectic styles and tastes, so please bring any preloved garment; there is no restriction on brand – if you’re not wearing it, bring it to a Swap My Style event. Our events are all about showcasing a great mix of finds.
• Please make sure items are cleaned and pressed. There is no need for items to be dry- cleaned.
• Once a token has been exchanged, that is the end of the swap. Please choose carefully.
